The NBA season is just about here, which means it’s time to give out predictions before the season tips off. We witnessed Cleveland vs the Warriors for the past four years, but with LeBron joining the Lakers, there will be a different matchup in the finals for the first time in four years. Some headlines to be looking forward to this season will be. Will the Warriors be dethroned? Or will the Warriors 3-peat? How far can LeBron get with this year’s Lakers team? Are the Boston Celtics the favorites in the East with the departure of LeBron? Or will another team emerge as the Eastern Conference favorites. Potentially the Sixers? The Raptors? Sleeper teams in the Western & Eastern Conference? Utah? Denver? Indiana? Milwaukee? Here are my playoff seedings and predictions.
Eastern Conference Seeds:
1. Boston Celtics
2. Toronto Raptors
3. Philadelphia 76ers
4. Milwaukee Bucks
5. Indiana Pacers
6. Washington Wizards
7. Miami Heat
8. Detroit Pistons
First Round:
E1 Boston over E8 Detroit
E4 Milwaukee over E5 Indiana
E3 Philly over E6 Washington
E2 Toronto over E7 Miami
Second Round:
E1 Boston over E4 Milwaukee
E2 Toronto over E3 Philly
Conference Finals:
E1 Boston over E2 Toronto
Western Conference Seeds:
1. Golden State Warriors
2. Houston Rockets
3. Utah Jazz
4. Oklahoma City Thunder
5. Denver Nuggets
6. Los Angeles Lakers
7. San Antonio Spurs
8. Portland Trailblazers
First Round:
W1 Golden State over E8 Portland
W4 Oklahoma City over W5 Denver
E6 Los Angeles over E3 Utah
E2 Houston over E7 San Antonio
Second Round:
E1 Golden State over E4 Oklahoma City
E2 Houston over E6 Los Angeles
Conference Finals:
E1 Golden State over E2 Houston
NBA Finals:
W1: Golden State over E1 Boston
NBA Champions: Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are heavy favorites to 3-peat. Barring major injuries, I predict the Warriors to 3-peat over the Boston Celtics in six games. I believe the Boston Celtics are the best equipped team to dethroned the Warriors but with the Warriors core still in their primes it’s still the Warriors era. The Warriors have too much talent and have the experience. Therefore; I believe the Warriors will capture their third straight NBA title.
